The Story of 2011 World Cup

Last Ball Six that fulfill the dream of Many Indians

On Saturday, April 2nd India won the 2011 Cricket World Cup defeating Sri Lanka by 6 wickets in the final played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, India that brought celebration moments for all the Indians. This world cup was special for many reasons

  • After 22 years of trying, Tendulkar finally gets his hands on the World Cup trophy
  • This was Sachin Tendulkar’s 6th world cup and last world Cup of his career.
  • The world cup was organized by India.
  • Many people were on the verge of retiring from the Indian National Team , so winning the world cup gave them happy ending for their career.
  • India became the first team to win a World Cup at home and they became the only team to win the 60-over World Cup and the 50-over World Cup.
  • India vs Pakistan Match in India.(Which India won)
  • Yuvraj was diagnosed with cancer and in his own words “it was a very dark moment”.

This world is really closed to my heart because to the above reasons. the best moment came to bring the happiness on many Indians when ravi shastri commented,

Dhoniiiiii…finishes off in style…a magnificent strike into the crowd…India lift the world cup after 28 years….the party starts in the dressing room…and, it’s an Indian Captain, who has been absolutely magnificent in the night of the final. And the World cup was won by India after 28 years.

The Super Over Drama

After recent cliffhanger in world cup finals between New Zealand and hosts England I thought super over rules are known to every cricket enthusiast. Super over or one over eliminator , conditionalities are appended below

  • Each team is allowed to bat one over with three batsmen. It means that you have privilege to loose one wicket in the process. Team batted second in normal game bats first in super over.
  • The team with more runs will be declared winner.
  • In case of tie the team which has scored more number of boundaries during normal stipulated overs will be declared winners. England was declared winner on this account. If boundaries scored are also the same. Count back starts from the last ball of the super over. Means number of boundaries scored after super over next, number of boundaries scored after 19th over and then 18th over and so on
  • Runs scored, catches, stumping and wickets taken during super over will not be credited to batsmen, bowlers or fielders.
  • Instead of deciding the name of the winner through a toss of coin this method was devised to use cricketing skills to decide the winner

The Story Of 2019 Word Cup!!

The 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup was the 12th Cricket World Cup a quadrennial One day International (ODI) cricket tournament contested by men’s national teams and organised by the International cricket council(ICC). It was hosted between 30 May to 14 July across eleven venues in England and Wales with the tournament being the fifth time that England had hosted the World Cup while for Wales .

England won their first ever World cup by defeating new Zealand but for Me Sorry! England only ‘won’ by a serious umpiring error!!

  • It’s a dumb rule that permits a deflection off the bat to be considered as an overthrow. An overthrow reflects poor fielding and SHOULD be penalized. Anyway, a rule it still is until changed.
  •  A dishonest batsman could easily ‘Accidently’ create such a situation. There is no suggestion that Stokes is anything but an honest batsman. It WAS an accident. But it should NOT have cost the Kiwis The World Cup
  • The batsmen had not crossed for their second run when Guptill threw in from the boundary. So the ‘penalty’ should have been 1 + 4 runs, NOT 2 + 4. Only the COMPLETED run counted, UNDER THE RULES. So, at the completion of 50 overs, England were 1 run short, NOT drawn. The Kiwis, under the Rules, won without the extra ‘Super’ overs.

Felt really bad for new Zealand they were the deserved team to win the 2019 world cup!!!

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
